Room Party Prizes

 Now BIGGER and better than ever, Capricon’s room party prizes.  These prizes are awarded to the party who wins the most votes in it’s category by Capricon attendees.  There are seven categories for the room party awards.  Each category is awarded a one of a kind plaque commemorating your win.  In addition each category winner will receive a special surprise prize.  Last year we gave away signed production copies of toys from Hasbro Toys.  So make sure to attend closing ceremonies to see what goodies we are giving away this year!

 In addition to those prizes the Best Room Party will receive a FREE parlor room night at Capricon 24.  That is valued at over a hundred dollars!  The Best Thursday Night Party will receive a refund of their membership to Capricon 23.  That is a $35 value.  The Best Thursday Night Party will also receive a gift certificate to Best Buy.

This year’s theme category is Best Party God or Monster at a Party.  This category is for an individual who is part of a room party group who party attendees see as the most fun person throwing a party or who did the best job using the God’s & Monster’s theme at his or her party.  This is not meant for non-party throwers.  You must be part of a group officially throwing a room party at Capricon XXIII to be eligible to win.

Dead Dog!  Last year the fun people from the Kansas City Worldcon were awesome enough to throw a dead dog party on Sunday night of the convention along with the festivities in the Consuite.  We want to continue to urge other groups and people to stick around for some Sunday dead dog fun!  To do so I want to announce an award to the Best Dead Dog Party.  I also want to let any group throwing a dead dog party to know that Capricon will go out of its way to help you pull it off!  This is the one award that it awarded by Capricon’s Concom and will be announced at the dead dog party.
